White Fatalii Pepper
About White Fatalii Pepper
The White Fatalii Pepper, also known as the White Devil, is a rare and unique pepper that stands out among its peers with its ivory-colored skin and stunning heat. This pepper hails from central Africa, specifically the country of Malawi, and is a cultivar of the Fatalii pepper.
Growing to be around 2-3 inches in length, the White Fatalii packs a serious punch with its Scoville rating of 300,000-400,000. It belongs to the species Capsicum chinense and is a member of the same genus as the infamous ghost pepper and scorpion pepper.
The White Fatalii pepper starts off green on the plant before eventually turning a bright ivory white color when fully ripe. Its thin skin is waxy and smooth, with a slight wrinkling towards the end of the pepper where the stem is located. The fruit is slender and slightly curved, tapering off at the end to a point. When cut open, the pepper reveals a thin, white flesh that reflects the pepper's name.
Despite its extreme heat, the White Fatalii pepper has a fruitiness and citrusy flavor that balances out the spice, making this pepper a popular choice for flavoring sauces, marinades, and rubs. Some have also used it for pickling or garnishing, taking advantage of its unique color.
