7 Pot Red (also called 7 Pod Red) is classic Trinidadian superhot rating 1,000,000-1,350,000 SHU. The name comes from claim that one pepper can spice seven pots of stew. These peppers have bumpy, pitted surface and thin walls. The heat is extreme and long-lasting. Beneath heat is fruity sweetness similar to habanero but more intense. Used sparingly in hot sauces. The irregular shape and intense heat make them popular among collectors. Very hot even by superhot standards.
