Chaotian means facing heaven describing upright fruit orientation. Rating 30,000-50,000 SHU offers significant heat. Essential in Sichuan cuisine. Small upright red fruits point skyward. Used dried in Sichuan hot pot and kung pao. The clean sharp heat is characteristic. One of China’s most important hot peppers. Both dried and in chili oil. Cannot make authentic Sichuan food without it. Ancient Chinese variety.
